Famed Tree - Art

In Famed Tree, the shape of a tree is depicted in a striking color scheme composed of black and a vibrant coral color. The particular shade of black used in this piece appears faded, giving the tree a quiet, ancient mood. A lively coral shade is interspersed with the faded, grayish black trunk and limbs of the tree. This juxtaposition of darkness and color is striking, the coral evoking life and springtime blossoms.

The warmth of the coral shade suggests heat and life, yet the tree in this painting seems to be old and faded by years. The tree has an eternal quality, the dull shades of the tree’s trunk and limbs a sign of many years, and the bright coral blossoms a sign of new life. These blossoms renew themselves year after year, and the tree is composed of both ancient and newly formed.
