Cabbage River - Poem

Cabbage River
I stood upon a river high
To watch the waves going by
Lest the stillness waits for me
Caution thrown to the wind

Trees and breezes surround the canvas
Shaking, moving, leaning forward
Savoring the protection of the sky
Dragging wilderness from its mouth

Bellowing screams encourage living
Out from the dunes and into the stream
Follow progress or what it seems
Walk quietly across, slowly as you go
